It's been a big few months for us following our incredible opening spot for Red Hot Summer Tour at Sandalford, supporting our heroes Crowded House. A real “pinch me” kind of moment.

Our last Lake Monger gig Billy Joel vs Elton John was our biggest one yet…and for those who missed it, don't worry, we're planning on going for round 2 sometime in the not-too-distant future. We've got a couple of open air shows coming up while the weather is fine too, so keep an eye and an ear out. 

As with all things, timing with Courtney's treatments is paramount. His energy levels, physical and mental health are more important than anything. We're astounded with how hard he continues to push to make it out to these shows, to sing and play with a strength that goes against conventional wisdom. We've been writing and recording for the next album too, and now have around 20 basic tracks to pick and choose from. 

AND we're revisiting some of our old songs with a view to releasing a revisited version of an older album from early in our career…   

Speaking of which, The Murphy Brothers are celebrating 30 years of releasing original music with our next Lake Monger show, featuring a look back on a career that takes in six studio albums, a live album plus singles and compilation contributions. 

From our early days quite literally as a garage band in Albany to our triumphant latest release Something In The Water, this show will be a celebration of three brothers united in harmony and our incredible career together...so far.

The show is set for Sunday 29 March at Lake Monger Rec Club in Wembley.

Lake Monger Recreation Club is situated right by Galup/Lake Monger and perfectly suited to an evening on the (bowling) green. 

With food trucks and full bar available, the space is transformed into a relaxed outdoor venue with big screen visuals, stage sound and lights. Bring your own lawn chair or picnic rug. (Strictly no BYO alcohol, bosses orders).

Everyone has their favourite. Are you a Beatles fan or a Stones fan?

They’re the two biggest bands in music history – so when they go head to head, who comes out on top?

We’re performing our brand new Beatles vs Stones show sundowner style at Lake Monger Rec Club on Sunday 9 March from 5pm til 8pm and who knows, maybe we might settle this argument once and for all?

For those of you who’ve been along to one of our Lake Monger open air shows, they’re a lot of fun. We’ll be joined by a couple of our very good mates Clem and Gruss and as with previous shows, brother Court will play as much as he can manage. He was able to join us for both sets at City Beach last night and he sounded fantastic and he made our 70s Big Ones show in December incredibly memorable.

There will be food trucks and a full bar available, spread out a picnic rug or grab some camp chairs and enjoy an evening of great music and great vibes.

It’s only been out a week and already we’ve racked up over 30,000 streams on Spotify… and made the number 7 spot on the metro community radio charts Australia-wide with “What Are We Waiting For?” (feat. Reigan).

Not to mention we received a brilliant response to the new songs at the launch party last week.

We’re going to keep that momentum up as much as we can despite being limited in our ability to get out and do shows to help get the word out. We’re performing an open air show at City Beach Sunday 9 Feb from 5pm and we’ll have copies of the new album on LP and CD available to sign and have a chat as well.

Our new album Something In the Water is available now!

For those of you who have been with us for the long haul (and even some of you who have joined us recently) you’ll know this has been something we’ve put our hearts and souls into. 

We’re incredibly proud of this album, we know Dad would be too, and for those of you who manage to grab a copy of the LP, there’s a special dedication inside to the lovely man.

We’ve had our share of dramas it must be said, but we always had this goal in mind – to share this album that means so much to us. And every sale from here on out goes towards helping us put the next one together! It’s already shaping up to be another cracker!

We’re looking forward to the launch party tonight and we will keep you posted on plans for a show performing the album in full soon. With Courtney’s treatment, we’re taking things extra steady, we’re sure you understand.

We've had a big start to the year already, we hope you've all had a chance to check out the new single Mr. Murphy dedicated to our lovely Dad or seen the video which features some magical Super 8 footage of the man himself.

Dad loved the track when we played it to him last year and it was special to share it with everyone this year, one year after he passed away. 

If you haven't heard it yet check it out here, the video is here and by March we're hoping to have a limited edition 7" vinyl single available for sale as well.

The other big news is that we'll be launching the new album “Something In The Water” later this month and we have limited tickets available for a very special album launch party on Thursday 23 January at Vicky Browns Bar in Leederville.

Tickets are onsale here and on the night you'll have a chance to purchase the new album as well as hear us play a special set featuring some of the songs from the new album.

Also just the chance to hang out with us and some of the amazing people who helped us put this album together!

It's an intimate venue, so tickets are strictly limited (there's less than 100 going on general sale).

There may be one more pre-release single coming as well - we've received such great feedback on all the songs so far - from as far away as Sweden and Finland - and we wouldn't want to miss an opportunity to share new songs and clips with you whenever we can.

Hi everyone

I guess it's high time we stop putting out singles and get on with releasing this album hey?

Well…not quite. 

We've got one more single to go, Ancient History is coming out 1 December. It's got the same catchy pop pedigree as the other three singles, so we're confident it's going to go down well. 

Then, you should be pretty convinced by the four singles that we've put something very special together.

And then we'll be releasing the new album 16 January! We haven't nailed down the details of the launch but we can guarantee you that you'll hear it here first.

Something In The Water has been over two years in the making and we're incredibly proud of it and can't wait for you to hear it from start to finish. We were lucky enough to check the test pressing of the LP recently and for those of you looking forward to the vinyl, it sounds phenomenal!

Well, it would be fair to say, we’ve had a few ups and downs this year.

But, on the cusp of releasing our new album, work already underway on its follow up, three singles already released, a fourth later this month, a new video out at the end of this week, not to mention a new single and video by Chris (go check it out now on Spotify or Apple or YouTube) … it’s fair to say, we haven’t really stopped moving forward.

So with that in mind, we’re putting on one last big show for the year. 

A celebration of who we are and what we do. 

It’s called “70s Big Ones” and it features many of the songs that made us want to be musicians in the first place. Songs by artists like Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Rod Stewart, Badfinger, Gerry Rafferty, ELO, Bee Gees and LRB - these are the songs we grew up with.

We’re performing 70’s Big Ones sundowner style at Lake Monger Rec Club on Sunday 15 December fro 3pm til 6pm. 

For those of you who’ve been along to one of our open air shows, they’re a lot of fun.we’ll be joined by a couple of our very good mates and as with previous shows, Court will do as much as he can manage. He really struggles for energy these days, but as anyone who saw him on Teleton can attest, he still sounds amazing.

We're only a couple of weeks away now from releasing the third single from the new album! Feel You With Me will be available on all streaming platforms and also for download from BandCamp.

Thanks to everyone who's taken the time to check out the first two tracks and the video clips, it's been a lot of work but as we head towards 12k streams from places as far away as Brazil and Finland, it feels like we're making progress.

We will have one more single out called Ancient History before the full album later in the year. All the tracks have come back from our mastering engineer Chris Gehringer from Sterling Sound in New York and it sounds amazing. Now it's ready for sequencing and off to the pressing plant so we have physical copies on LP and CD for the launch. More details on that to come…

We've got a show coming up next Sunday at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre, doing our Crowded House Songbook show that some of you may have caught at Lake Monger last year. 

The show is from 2-4pm Sunday 8 September. There are still some tickets available here and we're  looking forward to a really chilled out afternoon. Courtney is planning on doing his best to play as much of the show as he can, as as you'll know if you've seen him along at one of our shows in the last few months, it's pretty special when he graces the stage.

His treatments are continuing and despite the pain and the lack of energy, he's taking it like an absolute champ.

We've also been working on some of our new tracks in the studio as well and there are some other cool things in the pipeline, we will keep you posted about.
